" A TRUE TRANSFORMATION " WHAT ONCE WAS A TRADITIONAL SETTING (NOW) A MAGNIFCANT MODERN/ECLECTIC MOTIF" IN HOLLYWOOD OAKS, HOLLYWOOD, FLORIDA

Sherri Goode worked diligently to achieve what her client requested. This request was to turn what once was a traditional setting into a more modern motif. Clean, simplistic, but more importantly, a comfortable feel. This open floor plan has a continuous flow from one room to another. Her client likes to entertain. These goals were accomplished by using multiple textures and finishes creating contrast with a splash of color and an earth-toned, color scheme.

The formal living room's beauty was created by using dramatic colors to create a warm down-to-earth feel that her client favored. The contemporary sofa and chairs were upholstered in a combination faux cobra leather/velvet, which gives an eclectic but modern appeal.

The contemporary, spiral, crystal chandelier drops down over the Harrison Gil cocktail table and alluminates the walls, which were hand painted in a special antique plaster technique. The drapery, decorative in nature, suits all needs and gives an opulent, but eclectic feel. The abstract art pops in contrasting hues to offset the earth toned feel. The black, long shag rug continues the elegant warm tone.

The foyer is used as a formal sitting area which evolved by using the existing open arm chairs which were covered in a faux, paten croc leather. The frames were painted in a flat black finish. The hand carved traditional mirror and side table gave the space an eclectic feel. Once again, the continuation of the antique plaster finish on the walls created a warm and cozy setting.

The dining room, warm and elegant in nature is set off by the contemporary finish on the feature wall which consists of a metallic plaster technique. This technique runs into the antique plaster technique that is used throughout the main formal areas. The seating is upholstered in a combination of leather and a harlequin pattern blend on the remaining chairs. The glass table top creates a reflection from the outdoors. The traditional style, silk rug mixes well with the contemporary art and finishes.

The warmth and comfort in the family room is one of her client's favorite hang-out spaces.

The custom wall unit was designed to accommodate her client's needs for audio visual requirements and to be decorative in nature.

The drywall niches allowed her client to display family photos and memorabilia. The contemporary sofa combined once again with a leather/fabric combination is also user friendly for the family. The Italian, cantilevered, marble cocktail table set the tone for the contemporary setting.

The long haired rocky road, shag rug is as versatile as it is comfortable. The metallic plaster technique was used on the foreground of the wall and combined with solid flat paint in the niches. The contrast of the finishes accentuated the family photos and accessories.

The master bedroom suite exemplified an elegant, warm and comfortable feel. The client requested that the outdoors be brought in by using decorative window treatments only. The window treatments were created by using black and gold sheers to tie in the wall to wall carpeting. The creamy/gold colored bedding was ordered to contrast and coordinate with the carpeting/window treatments. The sitting chairs created a cozy space for her client to read and relax. The silk calle Lillie arrangement was made custom for her client which had to be done in a contemporary style. The glass liquid illusion did the trick. The abstract art once again created the eclectic flair to this traditional suite.

The common denominator used throughout the interior was mixing textures and finishes to create a warm, Modern Motif. The design goal was to create a Rich, Formal, Modern feel which once was very traditional in nature. The attention to detail yields a space that emits warmth and luxury, just as the client processes. The compelling mix in this home maintains an approachability that truly makes if feel like home.
