“My clients have other homes in Boston and New Hampshire but none that can compare to taking over a parents home and turning it into the "family compound" for future generations to come.” Nancy Feldman

While shopping $M+ properties for their Florida get away our clients found nothing could compare with the wife's childhood memories so we tore down the old typical Florida one story home and replaced it with this two story whimsical, relaxed and slightly glamorous beach styled retreat.
Folding a client's design needs into the final plan is essential for any successful project, so it's always a good idea to hire your designer/decorator at the same time as or before the Architect and Builder. Having the right team in place from the start saves you a fortune in the long run. The Art of Placement provided project management and worked hand in hand with the Architect and Builder from the start.

LEFT: This woven rattan and crocodile leather game table and chairs are perfect for family game time! We custom designed the steel stair rail behind it to mimic the look of bamboo and topped it off with a 3D bejeweled underwater relief and our custom designed chandelier with handpicked natural crystals and shells! The floors are ebony stained bamboo.

Purple is NOT my favorite color BUT it was my client’s daughter Elyses'…we offset the purple with a white washed beachy cottage styled headboard combined t with a sophisticated green, purpe, white and beige combo. The custom built white washed window seat had to be perfect for lap top use as well as lounging and reading. It also houses a queen sized trundle bed, perfect for college girlfriend visits now and a sometime in the future generation of tot sized kids! The sexy fur throw and stunning Snowy Plumed Egret really turned this into an elegant retreat.

Our clients had a long wish list! #1 on the list was the color green! Everywhere! They love it! Next; a relaxed but slightly glamorous beach styled retreat with a touch of whimsy! Well our custom designed chairs and couches are all about comfy, you just plop in them and don't want to ever get up! (relaxing!) Designing the glamorous silk needlepoint carpet with shells and coral was fun for all of us and our (green & cream) colorway purposely contrasts the dark stained coffee table, two story bamboo styled wall unit and dark ebony bamboo floors. Voila!

Building up was a necessity on this postage sized lot. So was a walk in Closet, dictating that the Master had to give up some space! We decided to showcase this magnificent Mirrored Temple Bed and went with smaller nightstands to conserve space. Our hanging crystal and steel birdcage chandeliers provided excellent lighting leaving ample space on the nightstands. The custom drapery and bedding are upholstery weight, a perfect room darkening feature for sleeping in.

This kitchen was specifically designed to hide both microwave and warming tray drawers! Installed above the stove is a pot filling faucet. No traipsing to the sink! Handpicked imported rare green marble counter tops offset the cream bases as well as the soft green center island. The shell covered fauxed ceiling and crackle glassed cabinet doors add just the right touch of whimsy!

We wanted to stay true to our color way but also let the girls define themselves in their respective spaces so we designed this very white beach- styled vanity to offset the deep purple faux of the walls. Suspended lilac colored urchin like pendant lighting and soft green subway tiles brought this color combo right back to our initial design plan while keeping everyone very happy. The bath/shower combo has a spa package and the tub facing mimics the louvered doors on the vanity.

“We got to know our young at heart, slightly bohemian, fun loving and worldly family well and think this space perfectly defines them. A satisfying project for all! “ - Nancy Feldman
